Moon Phase (Hippocrates), 2023, is one of 125 unique Moon Phase, which consists of three components: a sculpture that will be installed on the Moon in perpetuity, a sculpture that will stay on the Earth, and an NFT that corresponds with the unique Moon Phase. Hippocrates and the other individuals chosen made a tremendous impact, contribution, or were found to be poetic within the group, and collectively represent the limitless potential of humanity. Jeff Koons: Moon Phases is a celebration of humanity’s aspirations and accomplishments within and beyond our planet.
The location of the landing site of the Lunar Lander on the Moon will determine the color and location of a precious stone on the Moon Phase Earth sculpture and images within the NFT. There are five different types of precious stones, each a different color: a white diamond for a landing within the illuminated area (Earth Side), a blue sapphire for a landing within the shadowed area (Earth Side), a red ruby for a total eclipse (Earth Side), a yellow diamond for a landing within the illuminated area (Space View), and a green emerald for a landing within the shadowed area (Space View).
